This course will include the shooting qualification to satisfy NJ ADMIN CODE (N.J.A.C. 13:54-2.4) requirements.
This is NOT an entry level firearms course. You must score 80% or higher to pass the qualification (CCARE), and will get two attempts. This is an "advanced" handgun class. I put advanced in quotes because the concept of "advanced" is honestly, a fallacy.
Advanced pistol shooting is really just combining the fundamentals, with speed, under stress.
This class will prepare you for competition shooting as well as self defense in real life scenarios. Both require speed and accuracy, under stress.
Pistol Foundations is a prerequisite for this class, however, you may be able to bypass that pre-requisite with proof of prior training from a vetted instructor.
Weapon manipulation within contact distances
Maintain accuracy while moving in any direction
Accurately and efficiently engage multiple targets
Perform contact shots safely and effectively
Determine potential reactionary time based on distance and threat type
Determine the type of sight picture necessary based on target distance and size
Apply point or precision based on target distance, size, and time
Advanced skill building exercises combining movement, shooting, and accuracy with time constraints to evaluate existing abilities
This an "introductory level course" HOWEVER, even those with rifle experience will find the class informative.
This class will teach you the REAL skills necessary to properly handle semi-automatic rifles. Time is spent both in the classroom and on the firing range in a comfortable learning environment.
